Image Optimizer
Automatically resize and compress an image to hit a target file size, right in your browser. Optimize one image, or switch to Bulk mode to auto-optimize many images to the same target at once and download them all as a ZIP.
How auto-optimization works
Rather than manually adjusting quality, this tool picks a target file size and automatically steps down JPEG quality (and resizes very large images) until the result fits, giving you a one-click "best effort" optimization.
Optimizer vs Compressor
The Image Compressor gives you manual control over quality and format. The Image Optimizer automates that process toward a target file size, and also resizes oversized images automatically — useful when you just want "small enough" without tuning settings yourself.
Bulk mode
Bulk mode applies the same target file size to every selected image, automatically resizing and compressing each one independently, then bundles all the results into a single ZIP download.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Setting an unrealistically small target for a large photo
Solution:
Very small targets on high-resolution photos may require aggressive quality reduction. The tool will get as close as it can, but check the preview — some images cannot hit very small targets without visible quality loss.
Expecting lossless results
Solution:
Auto-optimization uses JPEG compression to hit a target size, which is lossy by nature. If you need lossless output, use the JPG ↔ PNG Converter or a manual PNG compression workflow instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — if the image exceeds 1920px in either dimension, it is automatically scaled down before compression to help reach the target size.
No — optimization happens entirely in your browser.
